Biography

Bradley S. Shepherd, is the Managing Attorney of the Criminal Law Division at BSS Law. He is admitted to practice before all the State and Federal Courts of Maryland.

While attending the University of Baltimore School of Law, Bradley twice competed in the National Trial Competition. After being sworn in as a Maryland attorney, Bradley worked as an associate attorney at a general practice law firm in Glen Burnie, and then a medical malpractice defense firm in Towson.

Early in his career, Bradley gravitated towards criminal defense work. Prior to joining BSS Law, he owned and operated a solo practice criminal defense firm. Over the course of his career, Bradley has successfully represented clients accused of all manner of crimes including murder, rape, and arson, all the way down to speeding tickets; and everything in between. By focusing his efforts, Bradley has been able to become a subject matter expert on criminal defense. His expertise led him to be elected by his peers to the role of chairman of the criminal law section for the Howard County Bar Association. He is routinely asked to give presentations and instruction to other attorneys on specific criminal defense topics. Bradley has been frequently appointed by the State of Maryland to represent indigent clients and has also served as a panel attorney for the Office of the Public Defender.

Bradley knows that every case, regardless of how big or small it is, is typically the most important/stressful/anxiety producing part of his clients’ lives. Because of this, he strives to give every case the amount of attention to detail that it deserves. The law is definitely complicated, and for that reason, most of clients are very nervous about their future. Bradley will work to take an otherwise difficult situation and explain the options in simple terms and figure out how to fix the problem. Bradley tries to connect with each and every client so that he can really understand what they're going through, so he can understand how best to proceed. Too often, attorneys charge exorbitant fees and promise the world during initial consultations only to shy away from doing the hard work. Bradley will attack your case head on and work to achieve the best possible outcome.

BSS Law is based in Lutherville, MD, but Bradley has successfully represented clients in all of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions. Most of Bradley’s cases are in: Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Frederick County, Harford County, Howard County, Montgomery County, Prince George’s County, Washington County, Wicomico County, Worcester County. However, BSS Law is proud to offer representation in all of Maryland’s jurisdictions.
